How the conversion works
The tool converts the amount to seconds and then to every other unit using fixed relationships:

Why months and years are approximate
Months have 28 to 31 days and years 365 or 366, so conversions to months and years use the average and are approximate. Seconds, minutes, hours, days and weeks are always exact. To add “6 months” to a specific date exactly, use the Date Calculator, which follows the real calendar.
